Deb and Stan Packard bring a world of experience to the driving community. For over 30 yrs, from various driving show rings & exhibitions to parades and wagon trains they have done it all.
Deb- Trainer of both equines and people started out as a child in the show ring, progressing from English equitation, barrel racing, reining, to driving.
Wearing many hats at CSHP, Deb is a driving event planner, event organizer, course designer, and Driving Essentials / Glinkowski Senior Rep in the west. Occasionally returning to the competition ring as time allows, She's competing at the Intermediate level, winning the coveted West Coast Triple Crown series in 2017. She was also ADS National Pairs champion in 2015.
Stan- 4-in-hand & unicorn driver has been driving and showing since 1991.
Teri- has been involved with horses for over 50 years. She started riding western at a local stable, winning her first trophy in 1974, riding a draft cross named Coley. She switched to English riding and has been fortunate to train with the late Gwen Stockebrand, winner of the silver medal at the Pan American games and USDF Gold Medalist Heidi Choate. These trainers instilled the love of dressage.
Teri met Deb Packard in late 2010. She started driving a lesson horse named Flash and was hooked. She brought her Oldenburg gelding, Peter, to Deb to train him to drive. After Peter was driving the carriage, she showed him several times before an injury forced his retirement. Teri went on to drive and show several of Deb’s horses before acquiring her current horse, a Haflinger gelding, named Lance. With Lance,
Teri was the recipient of the Eli Decker Memorial Trophy (best Preliminary pony) and was a winner of the West Coast Triple Crown.
Teri believes in positive coaching; lots of praise and clear concise instructions, as well as a lot of fun to prepare her students for the show ring.
